An open letter to the citizens of Florida’s Ninth Congressional District

I am writing this article not just as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, but as a concerned citizen, a disabled veteran, and a father struggling to see what the future holds for my children. My name is Marcus Carter, and I’ve lived in Kissimmee since 2019. My journey to political candidacy is unconventional, driven by my experiences as a veteran, entrepreneur, and, most importantly, as a parent to a child with a rare genetic disorder. These experiences have shaped my understanding of responsibility, service, and the urgent need for genuine representation in our government.

Qualifying for the ballot is a significant milestone, but it’s more than just a procedural step. It’s a declaration of readiness, an invitation to voters to engage in a critical conversation about our future. We stand at a crossroads: continue down a path led by the traditional parties towards a future we all fear, or pivot towards a new direction, one guided by principles of integrity, service, and accountability.

As an independent candidate, I am not beholden to party lines or special interests. My commitment is to the people of Florida’s 9th District, to represent our community with honesty and dedication. Our district deserves a leader who understands the value of service, the importance of ethical governance, and the need for fiscal responsibility. We need someone willing to address the pressing issues of education, mental health, and government corruption head-on. I am that candidate. But this campaign is not about me; it’s about us, our community, and our collective future.

I invite you, the voters of the 9th District, to join me in this endeavor. Together, we can reclaim our government, ensure it serves our interests, and safeguard our future. Let us stand united, not as Republicans or Democrats, but as Americans committed to the betterment of our society.
