FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KISSIMMEE, FL — Congressional candidate Marcus Carter announced today that his campaign has officially qualified for the ballot in Florida’s 9th Congressional District through the citizen petition process, completing what the campaign describes as a fully grassroots effort powered by volunteers and direct voter engagement rather than political money and establishment support.
The campaign spent more than a year collecting petitions throughout the district by knocking on doors, attending community events, and meeting directly with voters across Osceola, Orange, and Polk counties. Campaign volunteers submitted thousands of signed petitions to qualify for ballot access without paying the qualifying fee traditionally used by candidates.
“This campaign was built the hard way, the way campaigns are actually supposed to be built,” said Marcus Carter. “Not through lobbyists, consultants, PAC money, or backroom political networks, but by meeting voters face to face and earning support directly from the people we’re asking to serve.”
Carter emphasized that the petition effort was about more than ballot access. He described it as proof that citizens can still build political movements from the ground up when they are willing to put in the work themselves.
“We have two choices as Americans. We can continue allowing money and special interests to dominate our political system, or we can do the work required to build something different ourselves. This campaign chose the second option, and today proves that approach works,” Carter said.
The campaign noted that volunteers spent countless hours canvassing neighborhoods, attending local events, printing petitions, coordinating pickups, and speaking with voters directly throughout the district.
“This achievement belongs to the people who sacrificed their evenings, weekends, and personal time because they believe our government should belong to the citizens again,” Carter added. “I could not possibly be more grateful for the incredible volunteers and supporters who made this happen.”
Now that ballot qualification has been secured, the campaign says its focus will shift fully toward the Republican primary election in August. Carter plans to continue emphasizing issues including government corruption, federal spending, housing affordability, education reform, mental health, border security, and restoring what he describes as authentic representation.
“We are not running a campaign built around Washington connections or corporate influence,” Carter said. “We are building a campaign centered on the people who live here, work here, raise families here, and know this country needs a new direction.”
