Marcus Carter is a veteran, father, and advocate for integrity in government. After graduating high school in 2002, Marcus enlisted in the Army and deployed to Afghanistan at just 19 years old. Over the next decade, he served multiple combat tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq, gaining firsthand experience in combat operations and intelligence. His final role in service was developing training programs for biometric combat operations at Camp Lejeune, where he worked with the Marine Corps to enhance battlefield intelligence.

Following his military career, Marcus entered the financial sector, working as an investment advisor with Edward Jones before launching Carter Managed Investments in 2014. During this time, he was offered a chance to invest in a private funding round for Uber but passed on the deal. However, his analysis of the company sparked a bigger idea: a ride-sharing platform that prioritized drivers over corporate profits. That idea became DriveSociety.

Based in Tampa, DriveSociety was built on a groundbreaking model—one where the wealth created by the ride-sharing industry went directly to the drivers who made it possible. Instead of enriching distant investors, DriveSociety made drivers the true owners of the platform, sharing in its equity and long-term success. It eliminated surge pricing, allowed drivers to keep more of their earnings, and ensured passenger safety by verifying exactly who was behind the wheel—especially important when getting into a car late at night.

But as DriveSociety gained traction, Marcus learned the fight wasn’t just against corporate giants—it was against a system rigged to protect them. Uber and Lyft used their influence with local and state governments to shut DriveSociety out. Behind the scenes, they pushed sudden regulatory changes, created bureaucratic hurdles, and made backroom deals to crush competition before it could take hold. It was a turning point. Marcus saw clearly how deeply corporate interests had infiltrated government—and how the system actively worked against innovation and economic fairness.

During this time, Marcus and his wife, Eka, welcomed their youngest son, Jacob, who was born with a rare and complex condition requiring life support. The family relocated from Tampa to Miami to secure the specialized care Jacob needed, eventually settling in Kissimmee in 2019, where they’ve remained ever since.

Caring for Jacob gave Marcus a front-row seat to the broken healthcare system: skyrocketing costs, endless red tape, and a profit-driven industry where insurance companies dictate treatment, hospitals inflate prices, and pharmaceutical giants gouge families. Government policies, instead of protecting people, too often enable this abuse. While politicians offer empty promises, Marcus came to believe that real reform won’t come from more bureaucracy or corporate handouts—it has to come from fixing the root causes. His experience as a father fighting for his son’s care solidified a core belief: healthcare should serve patients, not profits, and families shouldn’t be buried in medical debt just to survive.

Recognizing the deep corruption in government and the urgent need for new leadership, Marcus launched several political activist projects focused on educating everyday Americans about the responsibilities that come with freedom—and the duty to step up and serve. He believed then what he still believes now: returning power to the people, away from corporations and special interests, will only happen if we do it ourselves. Until a new generation of leaders emerges and communities begin to rally around them, our nation will remain lost to corruption and dysfunction.

Inspired by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s independent presidential campaign, Marcus launched a No Party Affiliation campaign for Congress in October 2023. He believed that with such a high-profile figure opening space for new voices, it was the right moment to take the message local. He worked alongside other grassroots candidates who shared conservative values and a belief in government of, by, and for the people. Though Democrat Darren Soto won re-election, the campaign showed Marcus how much more he had to offer.

In 2025, Marcus doubled down on his principles and launched a new campaign—this time as a Republican. He’s running for Congress in Florida’s 9th District with a clear mission: to challenge the corrupt, entrenched establishment and return power to the people. For Marcus, this isn’t just about sending a message—it’s about stepping up to serve, because he knows without a doubt that he is the best candidate to fight for the district.

The system may be rigged in favor of the two-party machine, but Marcus sees the Republican Party as the one place where real change can still be made. While the Democratic Party is collapsing under its own weight, the battle for the soul of the GOP is still being fought—and Marcus is ready to take that fight head-on. His goal is not just to stand apart from the system but to take it over from the inside and force it to work for the people again—not for corporations, not for lobbyists, and not for career politicians.

Marcus and Eka live in Kissimmee, Florida, with their two sons, Alex and Jacob. His work is shaped by his role as a father, a veteran, and a citizen who has stood up to both government and corporate corruption. Now, he’s continuing the fight—determined to restore accountability, integrity, and true representation to Washington.
